T-3 to spring break
upsides: the event went well! it went really well! the troublemaker didn't, and the attendees did, and it sounds like the Public Defender's office is getting a good new guy. Also, I got to talk to their Victim Services division, and someone from the rest of the office tagged in and gave me a bunch of outreach materials, and hopefully we can reach out to all of them if we need to, bc of matters I will touch on below
also, spring break is next week! I think I can make it!!
downsides: the title IX situation is getting really convoluted, to the tune of I really hope my office isn't being used as a cover for another department, and that's the lightest part of it all. people are getting really messed up and it's flying thick and fast over my head and I don't want to be complicit in something that's hurting people, but frankly I don't have a good enough grasp of the situation yet to pick a side, because everyone wants us to. And my director wasn't in today so I couldn't check bases with her and the anxiety is real folx, the anxiety is real.
I hope I'm director next year. I think I'd do my best, and I think I'm the most capable person right now considering experience in this office and commitment to the campus. But I also really need to get some confidence and guidance. I don't feel like a leader.
