work took us out to the ball game today! this is only the second pro sports event I've attended, and they've both been baseball, and it's been by invitation both time lol. First time was in high school, and our choir sang the national anthem for the As. This time, we sat on the ground floor, so to speak, and I don't think the Giants won but I don't extremely care, because it was a great day of hanging out with folks from all the departments : D
TBH, I think I've finally figured out how to enjoy going out to the game - you sit in the sun and eat junk food and chat with / make friends and holler along when the people in shirtsies get excited. I don't get sports and I wasn't trying to count stats, but me and someone from the front desk wandered around and got sundaes and talked about the intersection of punk and catholic and commune lifestyles. native gardening and sunburns and popcorn, that's what it's about!

so I'm not A Sports and this isn't converting me to baseball (if I went to a sport to actually watch, it'd probably be soccer or hockey, I can follow that style, and the Sharks sound like they put on a good show), but I can see myself going back, actually. get the folks, bring nonmetallic waterbottles and hats, have a day of it!
