plague anchorite challenge - 13 may
May. 13th, 2020 10:16 pmI have one more lecture at all this semester, and then I've just got to hurl myself through the last hoops to freedom. Feels weird to be so close! time has been extremely fake this year. Summer's not going to be the transition it usually is, but at least I'll have one less thing to worry about.
Thrown my name in the ring for a COVID study, though, so that'll be interesting if they do take me. I've gotten to the second round of applications, so that's a bit exciting. I was in a study for a meningitis vaccine when I was like 12, and if I can do some good again, I volunteer as tribute etc. Actually, just before everything went sideways, I'd just found the national library of medicine's database of recruiting trials, and when I had access to SF I had been thinking of trying to apply to one. I'm fairly medically boring, so maybe I'd be good for a reference or something??
I just want to be helpful somehow. I'll be sewing again after finals, at least, but that need to percieve some sort of control over your own world is a heck of a drug. We love a placebo!
My energy level is just about right for Crowded Table by The Highwomen:
I've still only seen the first Bletchley Circle miniseries (elevator pitch: a group of women who'd been codebreakers during WW2 team up again to expose a serial killer), but if the full show i anything like that and this vid, I really want to find it. (being set in the city is just the cherry on top!)
