The world according to 2am
Sep. 22nd, 2019 02:37 amThank God for friends, what can I say. For people who can remind me I'm not just a productivity bot with a three-year plan I'm working on, but there's a point to having a personal life as well. And thank goodness for being healthy enough, mentally speaking, to appreciate them and their messages. To listen when people I respect say that I'm okay.
Ai. Adulting is hard. One day I'll crack the code and it'll get easier. I don't think my demands are objectively high; a short commute for work, a good roommate, a slow cooker for meal prepping, and a lot of shelves for books. Just enough load-bearing infrastructure, and then I'll be happy. Small steps, it's still a million miles away. We'll do our best to get there.
In the meantime, remembering to make time to be creative is keeping me sane, here. I'm getting more comfortable with the rp side of dnd, I'm letting myself sing more, I signed up for NiFest, I so utterly want to make the Chernobyl challenge happen in December. Creativity makes the world go 'round.
It was mostly on the bus or train, but I did still manage to throw a few words out every day, actually! It came out to:
Lawrence of Arabia/Lawrence after Arabia postcanon blending thing: 629
Added a bonus chapter to an ongoing larger work: 749
Filled in one of four last major gaps in a wip: 105 key words
1483 in a week isn't a lot of words in the scheme of things, but listen, I'm still gonna be proud that I did them at all
So that's keeping my head in the game, at least! I can do >1k for NiFest, I can manage an aggregate R (3.6k, credit to Brewsternorth) for December! It's technically adding responsibilities to my docket, but I think they'll actually be helpful. It's healthful, even!
Chin up, right. And good night, for goodness sake!
