yesterday I forgot to bring some mooncake to work, and the day started with a racist lady even, BUT THEN some customers gave me a whole double chocolate cupcake. faith in humanity restored etc <3
it's like. I'm glad that I get to work in-culture, don't get me wrong, but boy does it bring out the shithead in a certain genre of white people. I just hate so much that some people think that I'm on their side, that I'm one of them, that they can say idiot things because they feel like I open that door just by existing behind the counter with my coloring. "don't you think-" "isn't it funny how--" no ma'am I don't, and no ma'am as a matter of fact it isn't at all.
honestly this is the real reason I don't want [certain thing] from T. no I can't avoid it if it's a thing my genes decide to cough up and yes I will rock with it, but it'd also make me look even more white and that's just about the worst thing I can think of. haha!
ah well, yesterday's shift also had a group come in and toast 'to friendship!' and a couple who, every time one of them came by for refills/sundries, would also bring me play-by-play updates on their chess match (ended in a checkmate and 6 pieces left on the board!) and those folks are the regulars we're open for and that lady can kick rocks

also doodled out premises for another two motw plots! both based off NiF, by virtue of 'so Mt Langya totally would have a bunch of weirdos on speed-dial' lmao

HALLOWEEN BEGINS

so I'll be working day-of :< but otoh that means I'll 100% be in costume for it. which makes the question what I should dress as! I've got a set of antlers, so I can embroider a mask to be a deer. Or if I decide on a medium, I'd like to make an overmask along these lines - probably involving a coping saw? and maybe with some neon hair chalk? I'd almost do my jedi outfit or the doublet because it'd be more of a whole Look, but I don't want to like, splash either of them doing the dishes and things. we'll see!
also I did finally (hopefully) track down the right piece to fix the sewing machine sister's friend handed off to us, so hopefully that'll put us back in crafty business, but I don't have the plans in place for a fresh whole outfit this year. BUT if this piece does the trick it is BACK ONNNN :D I still have a bit of scar on my leg from the cactus that got me through the astronaut flightsuit, so that's multiple reasons to make a second edition of it lol. And Howl Movingcastle has been on the shortlist for aages
